Those damn Penguins
Those damn penguins a.k.a. City Police decided to pull over the mini-bus taxi that I happened to be travelling in on the way to Cape Town today. Oh boy just when you think it cannot get worse those penguins took a good 30 minutes to write up two sheets of fines for the taxi driver. The one penguin needed to tell the other penguin what he had to write on that ticket.
So the taxi driver is going to be out of pocket of R 1400. R 800 for overloading his taxi by 4 people, not wearing a seat belt is R 200 and having an out of date fire extengiusher is another R 400. Needless to say I was late to town by 20 minutes because of these irritating penguins that know how to ruin the day by doing traffic cop duty which they don't have the correct authorisation todo.
Plus the problem with both those penguins is that they have no manners.
Okay so what if the taxi driver cannot overtake some dude that is in front of him because some pleb infront of that car is trying to reverse and there is another car behind the taxi? I think those penguins need some education on the rules of the road. Maybe they expect that the taxi driver was supposed to take the bumper of the car infront's bumper off?
Also don't threaten to call for a police van to take the poor taxi driver away just because you are being rude to the taxi driver. Also asking a taxi driver stupid questions also does not help the situation. Only in South Africa!
